1 Chemical process safety Risk Trends, Industrial practices The increasing complexity of chemical processes, stringent regulatory requirements, and rapid technological advancements have made process safety a critical aspect of modern industries. This Faculty Development Program (FDP) aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary risk trends, safety management strategies, and best industrial practices in chemical process industries. The program will cover key topics such as process hazard analysis (PHA), hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), quantitative risk assessment (QRA), inherently safer design, emergency preparedness, occupational safety, and lessons learned from major industrial accidents. Participants will also explore emerging trends including digitalization in safety management, Industry 4.0 applications, predictive risk analytics, artificial intelligence for safety monitoring, and sustainability-driven safety practices. Through expert lectures, industrial case studies, and interactive discussions, the FDP will bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial expectations, enabling faculty members to integrate modern process safety concepts into teaching, research, and consultancy activities.
